IMF Protest

So on Saturday I went walking around DC and bumped into the IMF protest at Dupont Circle. The scene: a mix of hippies, socialists, Lyndon LaRoucheites, environmentalists, pro-Palestine activists and me, rockin' the Tommy Hilfiger polo shirt tucked into my cordoruoy pants. *sigh* Anyway, I broke out the digital camera and took some pics.

I was mostly disappointed with the protest. Almost nothing was said about the IMF. Instead it seemed to be a convention for all types of aggrieved groups, railing against everything from Israel to imperialism. The only thing that seemed to unite them was a shared intense disdain of George W. Bush. Seems like kind of a waste of energy to me since the guy was re-elected and will now be term-limited out of office in 2009. The extreme left: fighting yesterday's battles tomorrow. Guys, move on. Or something.
