U St.

So, after checking out the IMF protest I headed east to check out the changing complexion of U St. My take: It's still sketchy after about 14th St. Neighborhood has come a ways but still has a long way to go. Guys slumped up against building nursing a brown bag. People standing around with no obvious purpose. Trash littering the streets. You definitely won't find me paying the high $400s for a condo so I can live on the "new U." . Think about it, almost half a million dollars to live in an "up and coming" neighborhood? Sure seems like a housing bubble to me.
