Going to the movies

John Podhoretz:

The $2,000 price tag for that TV doesn't seem so steep when you consider that an average married couple has to pay upwards of $70 ($22 for two tickets, another $15 for soda and popcorn for two, parking fees, babysitter) to attend a single film.

$70 for two adults to go to a movie? Give me a break. C'mon, movies aren't cheap, but the most expensive ticket at the new theater here in Georgetown is $10. Further, how many people pay for parking at their theater? Not too many folks out in suburbia I bet. And how much is that babysitter making anyhow? $30?

Not everyone lives in NYC John.
