Finished reading the book last night. It really made me think. Lots of things went through my mind -- about how fortunate we are to live in this country, about how cruel people can be to one another, about how morally bankrupt the South Korean government is for turning a blind eye to the problem, about how Secretary of State Madeleine Albright had dinner with the monster who runs such a society, about how 60 years after the holocaust that concentration camps still exist.

I could write forever on this topic but I'll stop here. There is just so much that can be said. On a brighter note, however, at least Vice President Cheney isn't afraid to speak the truth about North Korea:
The comments drew a sharp response from Pyongyang, whose officials are never at a loss for entertaining quotes:"He runs a police state. He's got one of the most heavily militarised societies in the world," Cheney said. "He doesn't take care of his people at all. And he obviously wants to throw his weight around and become a nuclear power."
"Cheney is hated as the most cruel monster and bloodthirsty beast, as he has drenched various parts of the world in blood," a North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman was quoted as saying by Pyongyang's official KCNA news agency.
