Earlier this week I set my Tivo to record Over There, a new show on FX about the war in Iraq. After reading these reviews from Iraq War veterans, however, I think I may have to cancel the recordings.
The Camp Murray soldiers dismissed the military firefights as "bull---- " ("Where is the air support? Where is the armor support?"), the dialogue as contrived ("It sucked") and plot drivers as pure Hollywood.
Why am I not surprised that Hollywood managed to screw this up?
:
Update: Further evidence that the show has problems comes in the form of today's New York Times review which calls it "slick, compelling."
