I don't know what it will take for professional soccer to go mainstream in this country, but I'm pretty sure it isn't this:

Major League Soccer's resident freestyle rappers, New England's Clint Dempsey and Eddie Johnson of FC Dallas were scheduled to shoot at the same time, opening the door for the first-ever MLS freestyle battle. Dempsey won on default as Johnson claimed he was no match for his good friend. Dempsey went on to show his skills anyway, rhyming about his "ride" and "Texas pride."
