This is absolutely stunning reporting. It made me recall a certain scene from Saving Private Ryan. You probably remember it. The one where Private Mellish is upstairs wrestling for his life with a German soldier while Corporal Upham is so gripped with fear that he doesn't come to his aid. Guess that ain't just Hollywood.
