In 20 years the U.S. will still be numero uno, at least according to a Deutsche Bank analysis that I found through this blog:
Even in twenty years' time the USA will still be the world's largest and richest economy. At 3.1% p.a., GDP in the USA will double. At USD 55,000, per-capita income in the USA will then be nine times as high as in India and roughly five times as high as in China. The population will be slightly older than today; the average US citizen will be 38.3 years of age and spend around 14 years in the education system. America's 350 million residents will be the only rich nation producing sufficient offspring.
Also notice their predictions of U.S. incomes vis-a-vis China and India. It would seem that, like me, they believe those two countries still have a long way to go before they can catch up.
