Robert Pollack makes an interesting point in a column today. Zalmay Khalilzad, the former U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan who helped in efforts to write that country's constitution has now played a key role in brokering Iraq's new constitution. Khalilzad, Pollack writes, "deserves a medal for his efforts." Can't say I disagree.
