Georgetown homecoming

So last Saturday afternoon I'm jogging past Georgetown University when I see three police cruisers at an intersection and a bunch of students -- who'd obviously had a few -- standing around. Everyone seemed kind of concerned and a few people were looking under a car at something. I couldn't figure out what was going on and continued on my way. Last night, however, I found my answer when reading our local neighborhood rag, The Georgetown Current:

GU homecoming nets complaints of ruckus

...Ed Solomon and a university spokesperson said that students decided to block off O Street in order to stage an impromptu block party Saturday night.

But the soiree was cut short when one student apparently passed out behind a car and the driver accidentally backed up onto him.
Don't worry, you can laugh, the student was taken to GWU hospital and has been released in good condition. But think about it -- this kid was passed out in the middle of a street by 4 p.m.! And judging by some other passages in the article, he may have been one of the later ones:
The drinking also started much earlier than usual, [said Metropolitan Police Lt. Felicia Lucas], explaining that she had heard reports from other officers about students' drunken misconduct taking place in the morning and afternoon.
:
Victoria Rixey, president of the Citizens Association of Georgetown, said she and her next-door neighbor complained about intoxicated students behavior to the police as early as 8 or 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Wow. These kids have really taken it to a whole new level. But here's the real kicker:
"I just don't think [Georgetown University's community liaisons] have much say [in discplinary action]. And there are no consequences for students," [Laurel] Radley said. "Before we moved here, we used to think Georgetown was full of little Bill Clintons. Now, we just think of the students as thugs."
You know, there's nothing funnier than unintentional hilarity. Honestly lady, do you remember Bill Clinton at all? Given his antics in the Oval Office I can't even imagine what he was like as a student.
