Times editorial

This New York Times editorial made me laugh:
A Supreme Court justice should have an open mind and a capacity to grow. Far-right Republicans live in such fear of this notion that they were not soothed by the White House's inappropriate harping on Ms. Miers's evangelical Christian faith, or Mr. Bush's peculiar assurance that she would never change her mind, not even over decades.
No, a Supreme Court justice should be able to interpret the Constitution as it is written, not as they wish it was. Unless amended, the Constitution does not change. Its meaning is unalterable. This is a rather inconvenient fact for the left, as a strict interpretation of the Constitution means that much of their agenda cannot be implemented.
