Went to Chipotle last night to get a burrito. Chipotle, in case you didn't know, uses only chicken and pork that has been humanely raised and vegetarian fed. I think that's great. But I also think it's great that I can use my dollars to support values that I agree with. I love how capitalism allows me to use my money as votes for the kind of world I want to live in. Sure beats politics.

Further, I got to thinking about the price of the burrito -- $6. That's, I dunno, about average for fast food these days unless you head over to Wendy's and go to town on their dollar value menu. In a poor country I imagine $6 is a big deal. In a rich country, not as much. Therefore, if you want to make the world a better place, and encourage the more humane raising of animals, get rich. If you want a cleaner environment, get rich. There are plenty of problems that getting rich will help us solve.

If our politicians focused more on how to expand the pie, rather than divide it up, we'd be a lot better off.
