Joel Stein

In yesterday's L.A. Times Joel Stein wrote that "I don't support our troops." Since then his comments have created quite a stir and have been prominently featured on the Drudge Report as well as a number of conservative blogs.

You know what, good for Joel Stein. Seriously, I salute him. I'm sick of reading stuff from liberals criticizing the U.S. as an imperial power out to conquer the world for U.S. corporations and then including a caveat like "but I support the troops."

Who are they kidding? No they don't. They despise the troops. Much of the hard-core left sees the U.S. military as nothing more than baby killers (of course, if they were fetus killers, they'd be hailed as trailblazers for womyn's rights).

Liberals hate the military. According to many liberals U.S. priorities should consist of:

1. Ensuring abortion rights
2. Raising taxes
3. Ratifying the Kyoto Treaty
...
246. Little People Awareness Month
...
384. Saving the Kangaroo Rat
...
512. Supporting the troops

Yeah, I exaggerate. But not by much.

Good for Joel Stein for telling it like it is.

Update: On second thought I shouldn't have said that "liberals" hate the military. Not all of them do. I'm not even sure most do. More appropriate would be that "many" liberals hate the military.
