Supply-side economics

I remember during college going down to the basement of the dorm to do some reading in the study lounge and noticing that among the various carvings and writings etched into the desk I was using someone had written "Supply-side economics, fool!" Really.

Seems to me that you don't hear too much about supply-side these days. Supply-siders are often derided as economic kooks who tried their wacky theories and failed. Based on this analysis, however, that's rather unfortunate.
