Along one office wall, beneath a bookcase full of titles as diverse as The Travels of a T-shirt in the Global Economy and How Soccer Explains the World, there is a row of soccer balls. Gulati picks up one, an MLS ball from the 1996 All-Star Game at Giants Stadium, a doubleheader featuring world champion Brazil against a world all-star team. "It was a sold-out stadium, we raised $2 million for the SOS Children's Villages fund, Tab Ramos scored a fantastic goal, I proposed to my wife on my mother's 60th birthday, all on the same day, which was a good day. A very good day," he says.

Dream job
Today's USA Today has a profile of the man who has the job I would most like to have one day: President of the U.S. Soccer Federation. This 'graf in particular caught my eye:
I've read both of those books. Hopefully that means I'm on the right path...
