Dangerous line of work?

During the 110th Congress 5 members have died in office. They are Charlie Norwood, Paul Gilmor, Jo Ann Davis, Julia Carson and Tom Lantos. That means that Congress during its current session has had a mortality rate of 1.1% (5/435). In contrast, during 2007 the mortality rate for U.S. soldiers in Iraq was .05% (869/168,000).

And yes, I realize that the time comparisons aren't the same (1 years vs. 1.5 years for Congress).
