Deregulation

If I had a dollar for every time Barack Obama has criticized the alleged helter-skelter deregulation mania of the Bush Administration I'd probably be able to single-handedly end the financial crisis. The problem with Obama's narrative, of course, is that it is completely false as both left, right and center can agree on.

The supreme irony here is that the federal government, with its policies designed to expand home ownership helped to fuel the housing crisis, and now is demanding more authority to solve the problem that it had a significant hand in creating!
