Moderates

This really captures things nicely (via Mark Perry):

This really illustrates everything that I dislike about moderates. While they love all the praise that they receive for not being partisan and being above the fray, in reality they practice simple cowardice. More often than not the issues that Congress debates are either right or wrong. The stimulus bill, for example, is simply wrong. There is little to nothing redeeming about it. It doesn't need a few small tweaks here and there, it is simply horrendous.

These moderates, however, priding themselves on getting things done, demand cosmetic changes and then give their assent. Well, sorry, I would actually like it if Congress got a lot less done. Gridlock is wonderful. I really wish we had some at the moment.
