Deficit perspective

I am currently reading Nazi Gold, which got me thinking about the size of the budget deficit in terms of gold. At roughly $940 per ounce, it would require 116,356,383 pounds of gold to pay for the deficit.

Update: More perspective on what a trillion dollars looks like. And remember, the deficit is almost twice that much and the entire federal budget about 3.5 times that.
