Unintended consequences

See this story about paper companies that stand to reap about $8 billion from the government because they are adding diesel fuel to "black liquor" -- a carbon-rich byproduct of the paper production process -- in order to qualify for a mixed fuel tax credit. If you think that this is just a lone exception you are kidding yourself. Take this and multiply it across the breadth of government and you see the inefficiencies and waste. And remember, we all pay for that.
