Medicare update

It's going broke:
The trustees said Medicare was in even worse shape. They said that the trust fund for hospital expenses will pay out more in benefits than it collects this year and will be insolvent by 2017, two years earlier than the date projected in last year's report.
How about we have the government fix Medicare before we trust them with anymore of the country's health care?

If Medicare pays out more than it takes in this year and is funded by the same "trust fund" concept as other entitlements then it's insolvent now.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the headline here is that general tax revenue will have to start covering Medicare hospital expenses starting now.
