I saw this video today, which probably explains why I have seen so many on the left lately -- typically in the comments of liberal blogs -- claiming that Somalia is some kind of libertarian model:
While perhaps amusing it's a strawman. The video conflates libertarians with anarchists, which is inaccurate. Libertarians believe in limited government, not zero government. I don't know of any mainstream libertarians, for example, that oppose government taking ownership for the rule of law, which is sorely lacking in Somalia.
