Quote of the day

Rep. Carol Shea-Porter:
“The Constitution did not cover everything.”
The Club for Growth blog says that Shea-Porter should brush up on the 10th Amendment:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Sad, really.

Doesn't every Congress member take an oath to "protect and defend the Constitution" when sworn in? How is she supposed to know what she is protecting or defending if she doesn't understand what is in it?

I am big time in favor of requiring all legislation in the House and Senate to cite which sections in the Constitution make the legislation permissible.
