DeLong and the Hoover myth

Brad DeLong, a professor of economics at UC-Berkeley and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Clinton Administration, makes the following assertion on his blog:

Herbert Hoover was on the right wing of the American political spectrum and tried as best he could to follow pro-market, pro-globalization, pro-competition economic policies.

No, sorry, that's just not true.
