"To get rich is glorious." -- Deng Xiaoping. This is perhaps the smartest thing ever uttered by a member of the Communist Party.

A proposed seal for the office of the pay czar
A couple ofgood posts over at Coyote Blog on Michigan's job creation strategy and the current business environment.
The Washington Post says that Michigan's attempts to lure green jobs to the state offer a cautionary tale. This was bound for failure the moment Michigan's political leadership arrogantly thought it could plan out the state's economy.
The Cato Institute has unveiled a new website: DownsizingGovernment.org. I will be shocked if Republicans, should they ever gain power again, push through more than 5 percent of what Cato proposes.
Russ Roberts looks at the curious task of the "pay czar" and ends the post with a very good Hayek quote.
David Brooks uses his latest column to introduce his friends Mr. Bentham and Mr. Hume. Bentham's considerable intelligence gives rise to what Hayek called the "fatal conceit". Remember, no matter how smart a politician might be he/she is still vastly outweighed by the collective intelligence of society.
