Passing the U.S. on free trade?
  • South Korea and the European Union have signed a free trade deal. Meanwhile a similar agreement reached between the U.S. and South Korea two years ago continues to languish in Congress.
  • It's official: the stimulus package thus far has "saved or created" about 30,000 jobs. Still unknown, however, is how many jobs were destroyed by taking the money out of the private sector.
  • Retribution: the health insurance industry backs away from its deal to support health care legislation and is now being threatened with a $40 billion tax over 10 years.
