Mexico's public option in oil production
  • Philip Levy calls trade the unsung hero of the U.S. economy. Too bad it is receiving no help from the Obama Administration, which continues to sit on agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea while imposing tariffs on Chinese-made tires.
  • The Economist assesses the state of Pemex, Mexico's "public option" in oil production if you will. Like most government-run enterprises it's failing rather spectacularly.
  • It seems that Nancy Pelosi's idea of tax reform is adding a new kind of tax to the current morass. This news didn't exactly knock me out of my chair.
  • Steven Malanga asks how that whole "tax the rich" thing tried by several states is working out.
