South Carolina: better business climate -- and nicer beaches!

• Boeing has decided to set up a 787 assembly line in South Carolina instead of its home in Washington state. South Carolina's economic freedom ranking is 22, while Washington's is 41.

• William Voegeli on California's broken economic model. In other news California's government is now withholding even more from taxpayer paychecks in order to give itself an interest-free loan. People sure will put up with a lot for nice weather and scenery.

• Unions at work: piano movers at Carnegie Hall get paid more than piano players. And taxpayers are helping to foot the bill.

• Cash for clunkers, the program that keeps on giving even after it has been ended, appears to be responsible for making cars more expensive for the poor. Ron Paul said this would happen back in August.
