Why China has boomed.
  • The Hoover Institution examines why economic reform in the 1980s worked in China but not Russia. Interesting read.
  • The Wall Street Journal argues the stimulus package, a supposed boon for states, has turned into a burden. Encouraging people to spend more when they should be tightening belts is not a smart move.
  • Adventures in green energy: this article says that without government assistance the biodiesel industry isn't commercially viable. Adios.
  • A decision by the Obama Administration is likely to result in Madagascar textile workers losing their jobs. We don't help our cause -- or hurt governments we dislike -- by punishing their citizens.
