Quote of the day

Donny Seyfer, auto repair shop manager:
“I am an automotive diagnostician. We look for the root cause of problems. If we treat the symptoms, the problem always comes back. With health care, we are not treating the root cause: Why does it cost so much?”
Amen, brother. Current health care reform efforts are best viewed as an attempt to expand government, not a genuine plan to restrain costs. Under the current system little incentive exists either for medical professionals or consumers to reduce costs, largely owing to the prevalence of insurance. The solution of the current Congress and administration: expand insurance.

This will not end well.
