Polling report

A round-up:
  • Gallup's tracking poll has President Obama with a net negative approval rating which makes him far less popular than Jimmy Carter at a similar stage of his presidency.
  • Rasmussen polling has 43 percent of respondents strongly disapproving of President Obama, a level equal to President George W. Bush during his final month in office.
  • If an election were held today President Obama would find himself in a dead heat against both Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney.
  • The approval rating for Congress stands at 16 percent, threatening to test the all-time approval rating of 14 percent reached in July 2008.
  • The RealClearPolitics poll average for the Demcratic health care plan shows an overall favorability of -8.7 percent. Notably, 4 of the last 5 polls have at least a -10 rating.
  • A new poll in California has Sen. Barbara Boxer virtually tied with both of her prospective Republican opponents. Another Rassmussen poll had a similar finding.
