• Spain is dumping its green jobs initiative as too expensive. Hey, we can't afford our initiatives either, but I'm not sure that will stop the Obama Administration or Congress.

• The Economist notes that Daniel Ortega and the Sandinistas are striking renewed blows against democracy in Nicaragua. It's useful to remember that various luminaries on the American left were highly disappointed when Ortega was voted down in 1990 elections held in the country.
