Quote of the day

President Obama on the extension of tax cuts fort the top income bracket:
"What I am saying is that if we are going to add to our deficit by $35 billion, $95 billion, $100 billion, $700 billion, if that's the Republican agenda, then I've got a whole bunch of better ways to spend that money."
I can think of no other interpretation for this statement as anything other than a belief that government can spend money in more effective fashion than those who actually earned it. This is pretty much the Democratic attitude on taxes writ large.
