Recommended reading

  • The Wall Street Journal has some bad news from Egypt, where it says the Muslim Brotherhood and others are taking aim at the free market. I heard the exact same message at a think-tank event yesterday, where one expert predicted loose fiscal and monetary policy, along with other populist measures, will be the order of the day.
  • The Economist looks at high-speed rail in China. Note the part about the poor being priced out of train travel and the increase in bus routes.
