Recommended reading

  • This is probably the best commentary I have read on the London riots. Remind me again why the welfare state is considered compassionate?
  • Here's a story that's been getting a lot of attention in the blogosphere: $.55 of every dollar spent on Chinese imports benefits US-based companies. While the US economy faces numerous problems, China isn't one of them.

  • During the health care debate one talking point put forward by our friends on the left was that Medicare has lower overhead than insurance companies -- evidence that the government can outperform the private sector in health care. The problem is that it isn't true.
