• I dashed off an email to Andrew Sullivan yesterday in response to this post about iPhone manufacturing, which he published this afternoon. Can't believe I forgot to mention the smile curve!

• AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka has penned an absolutely vile screed that politicizes 9-11 to advance the union agenda. Excerpt: "That’s what sent 347 firefighters to their death at the Twin Towers 10 years ago. It’s also what sent firefighters to stand with teachers in Wisconsin even though Gov. Scott Walker had exempted them from his attack on public employees." Trumka was seated prominently last night next to the first lady during President Obama's speech. More union fun here.

• The economy's problem is not insufficient aggregate demand and state and local governments have not cut back spending. On the other hand it does seem that unemployment insurance increases unemployment and there is reason to think that a cut to the corporate tax rate could boost job growth.
