Recommended reading

  • Transportation: A look at how government is screwing up taxi service in DC and Milwaukee, and a successful bus system in New York that is actually illegal. In each case things would just be better if the government stayed out, a phenomenon that holds in many other areas as well.
  • Alex Tabarrok rips into the CLASS Act, which is part of Obamacare. Key quote: "'It’s a gimmick that produces phantom savings,' said Robert Bixby, executive director of the Concord Coalition, a nonpartisan group that advocates deficit control." Hope and change! And note that two of the Concord Coalition three co-chairmen are Democrats
