Anyone who thinks that FEMA's problems would be solved simply by firing Michael Brown -- not that he shouldn't be fired -- are deluding themselves. Similarly I think that anyone who truly believes that we are safer because of the creation of the Department of Homeland Security -- basically just a bureaucratic re-shuffling -- should reconsider.
