Alito and abortion

Liberals are having a cow because evidence has come to light indicating that Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito is opposed to abortion. Now here's what's hilarious to me: Nowhere in the constitution does it say that there is a right to abortion. I've looked and don't see it. The constitution does, however, very explicitly state that "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
:
Yet many on the left believe there is a right to abortion and no right to own guns.
:
Now, getting back to the abortion angle, my reaction is: so what? I don't care if Alito is pro-life. I don't care if he is pro-choice. The only thing I'm interested in is how he reaches his conclusions. If Alito can effectively interpret the constitution to show that abortion is prohibited, that's fine. If, on the other hand, he divines his opinions through a consultation of ancient Sanskrit writings or how the stars happened to be aligned one night, then we have a problem.
