I guess this can be considered sort of a follow-up to my post on MLK Day. I am currently enrolled as a graduate student at The George Washington University. This semester I am enrolled in a finance class and a statistics class (although that is likely to change). Total number of Black males enrolled in both classes: zero. Black females: two.
You can, however, find any number of other ethnic groups represented. That, folks, is a problem.
Now, I guess when I say problem that means different things to different people. A liberal probably looks at that and thinks "GW needs more affirmative action and diversity."
A right-winger like myself, however, is more likely to believe that this is sympomatic of a lack of qualified Black students or a lack of interest in such classes by Black students. Neither one is very reassuring.
