Ask people who favor a withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq the rationale for their position and there's a good chance they will say it's because they are in favor of "peace." If there was any chance that a U.S. withdrawal would lead to Sunnis and the Shia suddenly putting down their weapons and deciding to just hug it out then they might have a point. But there isn't and they don't.
There is a simple way to achieve peace -- win. Crush your enemy. Force him to submit to your will. And guess what -- the more we win in Iraq the more violence declines. And based on this report from Michael Yon via instapundit, we are getting pretty damn close to declaring victory.
