Poor marks for the U.S.

New international test scores are out. Unsurprisingly the U.S. continues to spend more than anyone except for Norway while achieving middling results. Think about this the next time a politician says that our schools need more money. It's a complete dodge -- what they really need is a fundamental rethink. But that would be hard and politicians prefer answers that are easy and involve spending money.
