Yesterday's prediction is wrong -- so far. Not a single Republican voted to support the stimulus package that passed the House today. But there's still the Senate, where members tend to be more wobbly.
Furthermore, does anyone else remember how much Democrats kicked and screamed over tax cuts during the Bush Administration that we supposedly couldn't afford? Now we see them spending over $800 billion, an amount so staggering that it is difficult to comprehend.
It's clear now -- if it was ever in doubt -- that Democrats don't have a problem with an exploding deficit, they are simply bothered by money being left with the people instead of handed to the government.
