Vouchers update

Democrats have succeeded in efforts to end the Washington DC school voucher program, ensuring that poor kids will no longer have publicly funded access to private schools. As tempting as it is to place glibly label this more "hope and change" this actually makes me quite livid. Denying a private school education to poor kids that can only afford public schools, do these people have no conscience? Simply breathtaking, from the same people that proclaim themselves spokesmen for the poor.

Update: This story says that President Obama intends to restore funding for the voucher program. If so, big kudos to him for taking on his own party.
