Recommended reading

  • Ira Stoll picks apart the emerging meme that President Reagan was a tax raiser.

  • While President Obama is not infrequently likened to Jimmy Carter (a characterization I disagree with BTW, given Carter's support for deregulation), Richard Miniter says the more appropriate comparison is with Mikhail Gorbachev. Interesting theory, but I still can't see the Democratic party collapsing anytime soon.

  • Self-described Democratic businessman Steve Wynn calls the Obama administration the "greatest wet blanket to business, and progress and job creation in my lifetime" among other choice quotes. On a related note, here's another great moment in regulation.
