Recommended reading

  • A closer look at Sweden. Excerpt: "In 1950, before the rise of the high-tax welfare state, Swedes lived 2.6 years longer than Americans. Today the difference is 2.7 years."
  • The federal government: always hiring, never firing. Basically the only way to lose your job is to die.
  • Britain's National Health Service is looking to open more services to competition. Meanwhile we seem to be going in the opposite direction.
